5.Lava Kusha
Lava Kusha is a classical
Telugu cinema directed by C S Rao and Chittajalu Pullayya and the story of the movie is written by
Samudrala Raghavacharya. The movie was relaeased on 29th March 1963.This
Hindu mythological movie is based on Uttarakanda, the later part of
Ramayana written by Valmiki Maharshi and depicts the lives of
Lava and
Kusha, the sons of
Rama and
Sita.It was released in 26 centres and had run for 100-days in all the 26 centres.It's the first Telugu film to gross Rs. 10 million.When it restarted, C. Pullaiah's health was deteriorating, so his son C.S. Rao took over.
6.Mayabazar
Mayabazar is a

ANR as Abhimanyu,
S. V. Ranga Rao as Ghatothkacha, and
Savithri as Sasirekha.The film is based on a popular
Hindu tale called "Sasirekha Parinayam", derived from
Mahabharata, an epic that tells a story of the five
Pandavas.During the period of exile which the five
Pandavas must face, Arjuna (one of the
Pandavas) sends one of his wives, Subhadra, and their son Abhimanyu to
Dwaraka — where her two elderbrothers — the Lord
Shri Krishna (played by film actor N. T. Rama Rao) and
Balarama reign.However, ten years later, when both Sasirekha and Abhimanyu becomes of age for marriage, Balarama and his wife decide to change their decision.But Sasireka, Lord Krishna and Subhadra oppose this change of plans.Now Ghatotkacha (S.V.Ranga Rao) goes to the place where the marriage is scheduled and disguises himself as Sasirekha (through magical powers) and send away the real Sasireka to the place where Abhimanyu and company are camping.Towards the end, Ghatotkacha displays his magic(Maya) to Duryodhana and his evil-minded kinsmen and drives them back to Hastinapura (Duryodhana's capital).The film had a 175-day run in Durga Kala Mandir theatre,
Vijayawada.A special screening was held at
Lalita Kala Thoranam to celebrate the golden jubilee(50 years.) run of the film on
April 7,
2007.All the artists associated with the film were felicitated on that occasion.Maya Bazaar's songs are legendary in Telugu cinema.

Pandava Vanavasam (1961) is a mythological

Kamalakara Kameshwara Rao and written by
Samudrala Raghavacharya.The film ran for 175 days.Pandava Vanavasam (1961) was also produced in
Tamil.
8.Bhookailas (1958 film)
Bhookailas (1958) is a mythological
Telugu film directed by K. Shankar and written by
Samudrala Raghavacharya.It is a remake of Bhukailasa (1940) telugu film.

Initially Savithri will not accept but finally she accepts.The rest of the story is how they survive there and how the hosts find out Savithri is their lost daughter.This film has been made in
Tamil with again Savithri in the lead role.The film has been made in
Hindi too with
Meena Kumari in the lead role as
Miss Mary.
10.Patala Bhairavi
Patala Bhairavi (
English -
The Goddess of Underground) is a popular
Telugu cinema produced by Vijaya Pictures in 1951.
Pingali Nagendra Rao wrote dialogue. It was also produced in
Tamil. It was the only Telugu movie shown in India International Film Festival in 1952.The son of the gardener Thota Raamudu (NTR) falls in love with the princess of Ujjain (Malathi).Raamudu finds about this plan and sacrifices the sorcerer and obtains Paataala Bhairavi.
