M. M. Keeravani, who composed 19 songs for the film. Along with being critically acclaimed, the film became a major hit at box office.The film starts with the penance of Bhadra (Sarath Babu) who becomes a hill with the blessings of
Lord Rama. On the other hand, Gopanna (
Nagarjuna) and his niece Kamala (
Sneha) fall in love and marry after a small conflict with their parents. Thus, a Muslim (Jay Prakash Reddy) who had been the Tehsildar to the place is dethroned for the sake of Gopanna.However, Dammakka saves him while he lies unconscious on the bank of Godavari.After a series of incidents, he decides to construct the Rama Mandir on the hill.Lord Rama, Lakshmana, Seetha and Anjaneya live in invisible forms in the place during the construction of temple.Thus with immense bhakthi on Lord Rama, Gopanna becomes Ramadasu.Exasperated, Tanisha imprisons Ramadasu.The film released in 229 screens including 173 in
Andhra Pradesh 18 in
Karnataka,2 in
Chennai,1 in
Mumbai and 25 in Overseas.The film had a 100-day run in 67 centres.

The gangsters in the process kill Mass's best friend Adi (Sunil) when he tries to stop them when they try separating the lead pair, before their marriage.Finally his quest for revenge is complete, and also he eliminates the anti-social elements in the society by killing them.The film opened with 191 prints and collected a distributors' share of Rs.42 to 43 million in its opening week.The film had a 100-day run in 74 centres.
